Depersonalization
Thesis on the subject of "Insides"
“Faulkner then began to demolish the house. Here the objects around him were more familiar, highly personalized extensions of himself.” J.G.Ballard.“Overloaded Man”
The interiority of architectural spaces coincides with many cultural and socioeconomic acts of ‘containment’ and ‘organization’. This thesis proposal is thus consisted of a series of speculative interventions to de-familiarize the dynamics of the oppressive and amnestic nature of the conservative interiority. A rather scenographical design, along with semi-fictional literature, were the means for the development of the ‘situations’; the sofa occupies the living room registering the bodies. The ‘purifiers’ form a temporal architectural body that grows overtime. The ladder chair acts as a disorienting tool for the office cubical habitants that restructures the perception of the office landscape. And lastly, represented visually and phonically, is the ‘curtain’ that is to animate its environment by amplifying the ‘outside’ through its response to air and light conditions.
